Transfer Scholarships

While there are a great number of students that gain acceptance to their dream college or university, there are many students who choose to complete their general education, save money, or consider areas of study while attending community college. Once your time has been completed at a community college, it may be the time for that leap to a university. Whichever route you choose, there is always the option of transferring.

Eventually. if you plan on changing schools you will have decide how to pay for school and luckily there are dozens of schools that provide scholarships for transfer students. Columbia College students can take advantage of the school’s multiple transfer scholarships and grant options, as can transfer students at Grand Valley State University and the University of Maryland. Ann and Peter Ziegler Scholarship
Application Deadlines:
The Ann and Peter Ziegler Scholarship has been established through The CNM Foundation to assist women majoring in Liberal Arts who are single parents and who plan to transfer to a four-year institution.

The Legacy Scholarship is designed to assist children and/or siblings of CCU alumni and current students to continue the CCU tradition.

The AAUW (formally known as the American Association of University Women) advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.

Award Criteria:
-Kern County, CA resident
-Attended a local high school

Lycoming College Transfer Scholarships
Application Deadlines: March 15, Annually
Students with at least one semester of coursework and currently (or previously) enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university are eligible. The minimum GPA is 3.0, and award amounts increase with the student’s GPA.

Award amounts and GPA requirements:
3.8 – 4.00 GPA = $24,000
3.5 – 3.79 GPA = $22,000
3.2 – 3.49 GPA = $20,000
3.0 – 3.19 GPA = $18,000
